Good content is the lifeblood of any successful website. Content can be provided through write-ups, articles and ebooks.    

Why good content ?   

Good content is what brings visitors to your website and also attracts search engines to index and rank you website. Remember, you need good content for your web pages initially and later on to sell it to your customers as articles and ebooks.   

How do we get good content ?   

There are many ways and the most important will be discussed here.   

Write it yourself   

If you have good knowledge about your chosen topic, do some more research on it, find out using search engines, what kind of information regarding this topic are people looking for, what books on this subject are people buying in large numbers (through Amazon) and then write an article on it between 350 and 500 words. Your article should provide useful and interesting information, offer solutions to problems or it should be a “How To” do something regarding your chosen topic. 

Other ways

The other ways of obtaining content are either by hiring a Ghostwriter (if you afford it) to write it for you or get it by using free content available on numerous topics on the internet. Be sure to read the  Terms of Use carefully before using such articles. One usual condition which comes with such free articles is, that you should give the author’s reference (Resource Box) at the bottom of the article. Though it’s no big deal, it will tend to detract from your credibility. Another important thing to remember when using articles from such sites is to reproduce them as they are without making any changes whatsoever anywhere on it. 

There’s yet another way in which you can obtain articles for use as content on your website, on your Blog, in your newsletters and also to submit to article directories. This is what I am going to discuss here at length. 

Private Label Rights  

It is called Private Label Rights or PLR as popularly known in internet marketing circles. Well, PLR is nothing but articles on various niche topics available for purchase on the internet at reasonable prices.  

There are many different ways in which you can earn money using Private Label Rights. 

When you buy PLR, the license allows you to change, edit and even put your name on it as its author. If it comes with unrestricted or transferable PLR, you get the right to sell it to your customers with the same rights.   

Sounds good ? Yes, it does, provided you fix the problem of duplicate content which may crop up with search engines later on.   

These articles are usually reasonably priced and are available on the following terms:    

	As single articles
	Packaged with other programs in a sale
	Through a monthly membership

Single articles – The advantage of single articles is that you can choose articles relevant to your website. 

As a bundle – If the bundle offered consists of articles relevant to your niche topic, you are in luck.  

The downside of packages and memberships is that most of the articles may not be of immediate use to you.

Duplicate content 

So what happens when hundreds of people buy the same PLR bundles and put them on their websites, Blogs, newletters, etc ? We naturally end up with what the search engines call duplicate content.  Worse still, you can be penalized for it.
